Neutral facilitator language that supports the participant without revealing condition or biasing outcomes.
Allowed language
| Situation | Say |
|---|---|
| Starting | “Please follow the instructions on the screen. Take your time.” |
| Participant asks what AGS does | “The system may provide guidance during the task. Please use it as you naturally would.” |
| Participant is anxious | “There is no penalty for taking your time or asking to stop.” |
| Technical issue | “We are checking the connection/system. Please wait a moment.” |
| Stopping | “You can stop at any time. We will record that the session ended.” |
Avoid saying
- “You are in the group that gets help.”
- “The system should show a hint now.”
- “Click there” unless safety or protocol requires manual help.
- “You are doing badly/well according to the score.”
- Any wording that reveals control, governed adaptive, or always adaptive assignment.
